A memorial service was held Friday at the United Methodist Church in Noxon in honor of Mary DeMaw, an active senior citizen in the community.
Mary was born May 15, 1917 in Easton, Pennsylvania. She attended schools there and was active in the Moravian Church. She served in the Women's Air Corps as an X-ray technician.
Mary is survived by her husband, Dwayne, of Noxon and her daughter, Linda Leyde, who lives in Sainas, California.
Linda was born to Mary in her first marriage. After her husband died, Mary met and married Dwayne DeMaw. They traveled together for twelve years touring the United States in their motor home. In recent years, Mary and her daughter traveled extensively throughout Europe.
Mary loved music, reading and watching old movies, which she and her husband collected. She enjoyed traveling and cooking and was president of the Extension Homemakers' Club. She and Dwayne have been active in the Noxon Senior Citizens group.
She had many friends in the area and was valued and respected for her opinions on many subjects.
Reverend Ed Hamsler officiated. Following the service a dinner was served.
