John E. Boyd, son of Jesse and Jane Hamilton Boyd, was born in Livingston County, March 11, 1876 and, had he lived untill this coming March 11th, he would have been eighty-one years old. When he was but a small child, the family moved to Crittenden County, where he from that time on made his home; and where he was contented to live, and earn a living for his family.
As a young man he was happily married Sept. 13, 1903 to Miss Essie Murphy who survives him. To them were born three children, Denzil H. and Jesse Hodge, both of this county and a daughter, Anna Mae, now Mrs. Duke Wright of St. Charles, Mo.
