Philip was born in Northumberland County,Penna.He was the son of George Philip,and Catharina(Reitz)Hetrick.He was baptized and confirmed in Himmel Church,of Rebuck Pa.He moved,with his family,to Rice Twp,of Sandusky Co,Ohio circa 1834.
In 1837,he married Mary Ann Kreilick,the daughter of John Adam and Mary(Groh)Kreilick.To this union were born ten Children,eight sons and two daughters.Children were Sarah,Emanuel,John,Jesse,Henry,Philip.Daniel,Jacob,James,and Mary.
Philip was a farmer all his life.He passed away Decenber 22,1892,and buried in the church cemetery.Rev Bowman officiated at rhe service.
Cancer of the stomach caused Peter's death.
He died on the farm he lived his life on.He was a member of St Paul's church,and all of his children were baptized by Rev Henry Lang,pioneer pastor of the area.Another obit has Rev Bowman doing the funeral.
