He has been a resident of Southern California since 1915. He spent a lifetime in construction work, beginning as a young man in the borax mines of the Mojave Desert. He served in the United States Navy in World War II as a SeaBee, building runways in the South Pacific. He was a former member of the International Union of Ironworkers and was a welder of structural steel on many of the early high rise buildings in downtown Los Angeles. Later in his career he became a Building Inspector of structural steel and concrete in the counties of Los Angeles and Orange, and was in demand because of his integrity. He was a retired member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 12.
A rosary will be said for the repose of his soul on Thursday, March 14th, 7:00 P.M. at Rose Hills Mortuary, 3888 S. Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, CA.
A Funeral Mass will be said on Friday, March 15, 2002, 9:00 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Church, Baldwin Park Blvd., at Stewart Ave., Baldwin Park. Burial will follow next to his wife, at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
