James W. Glasgow,
born 17 Sep 1827, to James & Mary (McNeil) Glasgow.

He was first married to Catherine McIntire, his first cousin's daughter. Catherine died giving birth to their son Wm Stuart Glasgow.

James moved to South Fork, Iowa by Oct 1852 where he worked as a carpenter.

He married again on 8 Jul 1856 to Jane Glasgow McIntyre, daughter of John & Margaret W. (Patton) McIntyre.

When the Civil War broke out he enlisted as a private in Co. D., 23rd Iowa Vol., Inf. In 1872, they moved to Coulterville, Ill. & resided there for 16 yrs.

They then moved to Morning Sun, Iowa where they spent the remainder of their lives. James & Jane had 7 children. James died between 1900 & 1910.

He married his cousin Catherine McIntyre on 17 February 1848. She was the daughter of William and Martha Sharp (Patton) McIntyre. She was born 31 October 1831 and died six months after the birth of her son William Stuart Glasgow, on 5 June 1851 and is buried in the Cherry Fork cemetery.

He moved to Iowa by October of 1852 and married another cousin, Jane Glasgow McIntyre, daughter of John and Margaret W. (Patton) McIntyre. She was born in Adams county, Ohio on 19 January 1840 and joined the Reformed Presbyterian church in girlhood. They resided in South Fork township, Wayne county, Iowa in the 1870 census.

James was a private in the 23 Iowa Volunteer Infantry, Company D. In 1872 they moved to Coulterville, Illinois and then to Morning Sun. She died 16 July 1915 and is buried in the Elmwood Cemetery, Morning Sun.
