Louis "L.D." Douglas Watley, 72, of Jemison died Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster. He was born on Friday, August 29, 1937, in Chilton County, son of the late Ollis Watley and the late McCary Watley. He was a construction supervisor.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Watley of Jemison; son, Douglas (Edith) Watley of Jemison; 2 daughters, Kathy Hilyer of Jemison and Peggy (Joe) Baker of Clanton; 7 grandchildren; and 8 grandchildren.
Services were Monday, Jan. 25, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Pates Chapel Baptist with Rev. Clint Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Pates Chapel Baptist Cemetery, Thorsby. Martin Funeral Home directing.
