Victor Paul Campagna Sr., 88, The Orchard, Butler, formerly of Cresson, passed away Wednesday morning at Sunnyview Home in Butler.

He was born in Lilly, son of the late August and Carmella (Courvina) Campagna.

Surviving are two sons: Victor P. Jr. (Monica) of Slippery Rock and Ronald F. (Judy) of Wadsworth, Ohio; two granddaughters: Jodi (Liam) Brennan of Cranberry Township and Jessica Campagna of North Royalton, Ohio; two grandsons: Tad (Laura) Campagna of Slippery Rock and Nicholas Campagna of Wadsworth, Ohio; five great-grandchildren: Lainey, Eden and Brady Brennan and Freddy and Elle Campagna; two sisters: Lucille Campagna of Lilly and Patricia (William) McConnell of Cresson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Antoinette "Toni" C. (Massimilla); four sisters: Florine, Lucinda and Nilda Campagna and Louise Armold; and two brothers: Natale "Nud" and John.

Vic was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Pacific Theater. He retired from the A&P Co., where he had been a meat manager. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where he was a longtime usher.

He was a past commander of the Cresson American Legion, where he served in many capacities, and a member of the VFW. He was very active in the Cambria County Fair Association, where he had served as president.

Vic enjoyed golfing at Summit Country Club and walking around Cresson, and he enjoyed spending time with his great-grandchildren, who always brought a smile to his face.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Cresson. Entombment will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
