BETHANY - William Gilbert "Bill" Watkins, age 85, of Bethany Community, died Oct 29, 2005 at home. Services will be Tuesday at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Don Springer officiating. Burial will follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with graveside rites handled by the American Legion and Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Survivors include his wife Katie P. Watkins; sister Mary E. Park; and other relatives. Pallbearers will be deacons of Bethany Baptist Church; Earl McDaniel, Tommy Hughes, Kenny Harles, Paul Mills, Rex Tilley, Eddie LaFoy, Allen Sullivan and Chuch Hinton. Honarary pallbearers are Darrell Smith, Frank Redd, Harvey Ress, Stewart Franklin, and members of American Legion Post 123.
