Sally Ann Hugen was born on April 25, 1939, at Oskaloosa, Iowa. She was one of two daughters that were born to Ray Earl and Anne Lucille Bloom Hugen. Sally graduated from Pella Public High School in Pella, Iowa with the Class of 1957. Following graduation she was employed at Bankers Life in Des Moines, Iowa for a short time and then began working at the Rolscreen Company in Pella. Sally was united in marriage with Robert Stice and to this union one son, Brian Dean, was born. Sally lived the remainder of her life in Pella and for 22 years was employed in the kitchen at the Pella Community Hospital. An early retirement found Sally reading, doing crossword puzzles and attending garage sales. On Saturday morning, November 14, 2009, she passed away at the Pella Regional Health Center in Pella at the age of 70 years. Sally is survived by her son, Brian, and her sister, Marlene Hugen of Pella. She was preceded in death by her parents, her father, Ray Hugen, who passed away in July of 1977 and her mother, Anne Hugen, who passed away in August of 1996. Sally had a sweet and caring way about her and will be remembered for her giving spirit.
