Chesley Robert Gaddy, 72, a retired transport truck driver, died Friday at a Georgetown hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday in the Andrews Baptist Church. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, directed by Mayer Funeral Home.

Mr. Gaddy was born in Wilson, N.C., on August 23, 1898. He lived in California prior to moving to Andrews 30 years ago where he was a member of the Andrews Baptist Church. He had lived in Georgetown for the past two years and was a World War I veteran.

Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Louaddie Venters Clardy Gaddy of Georgetown; two sons, Larry C. Gaddy of Savannah, and Harold L. Gaddy of North Charleston; a step-son, Palmer Clardy of Canton, N.C., two step daughters, Mrs. Barbara Clardy Honea of Ware Shoals and Mrs. Hazel Clardy Andrews of Griffin, Ga.; seven grandchildren.
