Son of the late Clyde Thomas Carr and Annie Belle Hubbard, he was a member of Allensville Methodist Church. He was survived by his wife, Betsy Gregory Carr; two sons, Phillip Thomas Carr, Jr. (Glee) and John Timmy Carr; one daughter, Penny Carr Comer (David); two brothers, Stanley Carr and Algie Ray Carr; one sister, Ann Davis; eight grandchildren, Andy Carr, Trista Carr, Tyler Carr, Zack Carr, Brian Carr, Phillip Bowen, Ricky Bowen and Ronnie Denny; five great-grandchildren, Talana Carr, Aubrey Ann Carr, Justin McClure, Jayme Lynn Bowen and William Lunsford; and an extended family of relatives. His graveside funeral was held on December 31, 2010, with The Rev. Hal Dickerson officiating.
