James David Maroney, 57, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 30, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home Chapel with internment at Ridge Crest Memorial Park with Rev. Virgil Bagwell and Rev. Hank Fanning officiating. Active pallbearers will be Matt Rodgers, Jeff Storey, Rodey Storey, Randy Bagwell, Thomas Edwards and Norris (Pete) Maroney, Jr.

Mr. Maroney was born in Batesburg, SC to the late Mary Cornelia and Boyd Maroney. He was a veteran of the Air Force. He loved fishing and hunting. He was a member of Amick Grove Holiness Church.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Christina Danielle (Juliano G) Avigliano of Charlotte, NC; brother and sister-in-law, John (Peggy) Maroney of Batesburg; sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy (Bryson) Cockrell of Batesburg; Brenda (Bugsy) Kalbfleisch of Saluda; grandchild, Giovanni Avigliano. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and two brothers, Jerry and Phillip Maroney.

The family will receive friends from 6:00â€'8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, other times at the home of his sister, Judy Cockrell, 269 Old Golf Course Road, Batesburg, SC 29006.
