Actress. She appeared in motion pictures during the 1920s and 1930s, often played supporting parts and leads in B films. She was noted for her fashion sense and was called the best dressed woman in Hollywood. She was born in Brooklyn, attended Hunter College and later appeared in the Ziegfeld Follies. She married actor Edmund Lowe in 1925 but they had a very open marriage. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1933 and died the following year. Her funeral was attended by over 10,000 people, mostly female fans, who created quite a scene by trying to catch a glimpse of the coffin and snatch flowers.
