Laura Maude Guthrie, age 85, of Melbourne died August 27, 1987 at the Pioneer Nursing Home in Melbourne.

She was a housewife and a member of the Melbourne United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Guthrie, and her parents, William N. and Sarah C. (Jackson) Tomlinson.

Survivors include three sons; John Guthrie of Batesville, Bill and Bob Guthrie of Melbourne, and four daughters: Valree Blum and Faye Peckham of Detroit, Michigan; Shirley Hill and Betty McCollum of Melbourne; one brother, Waldon Tomlinson of Melbourne; one sister, Pearl Tomlinson of Salem; 18 grandchilren and 36 great grandchildren.

Services were held August 29 at Howard Chapel in Melbourne with Richard Ihne and Tom Brister officiating.

Burial was at Melbourne Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Doyle McCollum, David McCollum, , Tommy Taylor, Chris Hill, Bobby Harold Guthrie, Wally Guthrie, Marty Webb, Donald Cheatham and Charles Blum.
