Mrs. Ida Lewis Succumbs At 91
Hallieford - Mrs. Ida Brooks Lewis, 91, died Tuesday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Shelton Davis, here following a lingering illness.
She was the widow of John Marshall Lewis and a member of Mathews Baptist Church.
Besides Mrs. Davis, she is survived by another daughter, Mrs. D. D. Ashton of Irvington; four sons, W. Guy Lewis of Norfolk, Capt. Harry Sadler of Gloucester, C. Frank Sadler of Hudgins and Capt. Carroll J. Sadler of Cape Charles; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Foster Funeral Home at Blakes, conducted by the Rev. Charles M. Jones, pastor of Mathews Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Mathews Baptist cemetery on Queen's Creek.
