Jackson L. Cooley's parents were Joseph T. Cooley and Kezia(h) (Casey) Cooley, who should be buried in Missouri. He came to Oregon in 1845 guided by Cpt. Abner Hackleman. He and his family took the infamous "Meek Cut Off," wherein they lost one family member who is buried at The Dalles. The rest of them came first to Oregon City, then to Marion County. Jackson married Harriet Dimick in 1851. (Information from Kathie L. Webb Blair.)
