James Gale will be remembered by his 5,000 or so descendants as a man who listened to the Lord and taught Christian principles to his children who in turn have become good citizens of their respectful communities. He taught by example to sacrifice his time, his talents and all the Lord blessed him with to building up the Kingdom of God on Earth as it is in the heavens.
His life was one of obedience in following the council of the Lord through his living prophets and church leaders. He was willing to do the will of the Lord and go where asked, from Australia, to California, to Beaver, Utah, to Snowflake, AZ to the colonies of Mexico and to Franklin, AZ.
When asked to marry two wives and raise 23 children in the beginning days of the Arizona Territory and provide for them he did so to the best of his ability. When persecution for polygamy in the United States became a law he obediently took his families to Mexico for a dozen years until he was able to return to establish himself in Franklin.
