Marvin E. Farmer, 70, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2006 at his residence in Fairhope, Alabama. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 4, 2006 at Southern Funeral Home chapel in Durant at 2 p.m. with Brother Larry Harvey officiating. Burial was in West City Cemetery in West.
Mr. Farmer was born on March 22, 1936, in Holmes County, the son of Halbert Farmer and Frances McCreary. He was retired from the Mississippi Highway Patrol. Mr. Farmer was an Air Force veteran. He was a member of Fairhope United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife Betty Edwards Farmer; two step-sons, Gene Bouchillon and wife Mary Jane of Fairhope, Alabama, Tommy Jones and wife Sandra of Grenada; two step-daughters, Jackie Trueblood and husband Roy of Peachtree City, Georgia, Diane Massey and husband Sammy of Lexington; and a brother, Frankie Farmer and wife Linda of West.
Pallbearers were: Doug Aldridge, Paul Bouchillon, Ricky Farmer, Buddy Hathcock, Allen Burrell, and Walter Franklin Farmer.
Honorary pallbearers were: James Weeks, Rueben Spencer, E.E. "Bubba" McBride, Melvin Farmer, Arthur Melton, Horace Bouchillon, all Mississippi Highway Patrol, active and retired.
