He was born July 3, 1891, in Mississippi County, where he had lived his entire life, and had been a farmer until his retirement in 1965. On Dec. 15, 1912, he was married to the former Miss Irene Jackson, who survives.
Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Manford Cox; two half brothers, Rolfe Presson and Atlee Presson; a stepbrother, Aaron Fairhurst; two sisters, Mrs. C. W. Nicholson and Mrs. Frank Smith; a stepsister, Mrs. Edith Lanksford; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at the New Bethel Baptist Church where he was a member. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Charleston.
