NEBEKER - Vern L. Nebeker of 1388 Cal Young Road, Eugene, passed away December 12, 1980 at the age of 76. He was born September 15, 1914 in Perry (La Grande), Oregon. He married Maxine Wakefield in Salt Lake City December 16, 1943. Besides his wife he is survived by nine children: Stephen of Yuba City, California, Sally Hall of Orem, Utah, Lana Workman of Bellevue, Washington, and Jolyn Atwood, Seattle, Lionel of Seattle, John of Provo, Utah, Marva of Salt Lake City, Christa Fife and Debra Astel, both of Orem, Utah; 7 brothers and sisters: Alexander of La Grande, Helen Zaugg of Clearfield, Utah, Ida Lyman and Gertie Hibbert, both of La Grande, Verda Westenskow of La Grande, Viola Barritt of Ventura, California, and Wiley of La Grande; 28 grandchildren. He had been a resident of Eugene since 1971 and was Patriarch of the Eugene Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Funeral services will be held at the L.D.S Stake center on 1155 President Street, Monday December 15, 1980 at 10 AM, an additional funeral service will be held at the L.D.S Church in La Grande, Oregon. Following will be internment at the Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery, La Grande. POOLE-LARSEN CHAPEL, funeral directors.
