∼Dr. Edward Damon, son of Thomas Damon and Lucy Ann Emerson, is mentioned in the "History of Ware, Massachusetts", by the author Arthur Chase, as "the first doctor to settle in the town". The births of his children begin in the Ware records in 1735. In 1745, Edward purchased the whole, 206 acres in Ware that was known as the "Marsh Tract". The author incorrectly stated that he was from Reading (sp. Redding), CT, when Edward was actually from Reading, MA. "He first settled in Brookfield, soon after removing to Ware".
