Powers Rites Will Be Held Wednesday
Gloucester, Aug. 16 - Funeral services for Pfc. William Everett Powers, who died of wounds received in the Battle of Luxembourg in World War II will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Gloucester County.
Pfc. Powers was wounded Dec. 24, 1944 , and died Christmas Day 1944, his body having just been returned to this country for reinturment.
The Rev. V. P. Locke, pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, will officiate and burial will be made in the church cemetery. Gloucester Post No. 75, American Legion will be in charge of services at the grave.
Powers is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Malvin Powers of Naxera; a sister, Mrs. Alma Dudley of Newport News; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Powers and maternal grandfather, W. P. Sterling, all of Naxera.
