Terry Eugene Blair, 75, of Newington, beloved husband of Beverly (Weiland) Blair, passed away on Saturday (December 25, 2010) at St. Francis Hospital.
Terry was born in Hartford; he was the son of the late Norman and Doris (Cote) Blair.
He was a resident of Newington for thirty-two years and a member of St. Mary's Church. Terry was a member of the Hartford Police Department for thirty-three years, retiring in 2003.
A U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he served his country honorable during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the D.A.V.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of forty-eight years Beverly; his sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Debbie Blair of Andover and Terry and Karen Blair of Newington; six grandchildren, Ashley, Jeffery, Timmy, Amy, Jeremy, and Joey; his brother Charles Blair of Bristol; his special best friend and companion "Molly". He is also survived by his father-in-law Clyde Dunshee of Florida; brother-in-law Bradley Weiland of Plainville; sisters-in-law Barbara Wood of Florida and B.J. O'Callaghan of Maryland and several nieces and nephews.
Terry's Funeral Services will begin on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 11:15 a.m. from the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Avenue, Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. in St. Mary's Church.
Interment with full military honors accorded will follow in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Newington Memorial.
