Lois L. Grygiel, 87, Watertown, died Tues day, Dec. 21, 2010, in a care center at Water town. She was the widow of Leon Grygiel.
Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 27 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Martin's Lutheran Church at Watertown with the Rev. Paul Janke officiating. Music will be provided by organist Carol Janke and soloist Sharon Renner.
Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery at Watertown. Pallbearers will be Virgil Borns Jr., Norman Luken, Paul Luken, Dan Tschakert, John Hanten and Gary Young.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Wight, Comes and Sogn Funeral Chapel at Watertown and will continue Monday prior to the services.
Lois Lucille Grygiel was born April 22, 1923, in Hamlin County to John and Martha R. (Anderson) Luken. She lived in the Hazel area until she was 8 years old. She and her family moved north of Henry, where she grew up and attended North Graceland country grade school graduating from the eighth grade in 1937. She also attended Henry High School until 1940.
She married Melvin Erickson June 28, 1941, in Madison, Minn., and they had two children. They farmed until 1956. Melvin died Dec. 5, 1958.
She married Leon Grygiel Nov. 5, 1960, in Watertown. They lived in Watertown where she owned and operated the Dairy Creme Drive-In until 1967. She was then employed at Minnesota Rubber for 20 years before retiring in 1988.
She was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Watertown. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, gardening, yard work, watching baseball and car races and working.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, her son, Luverne Erickson, and her daughter, Sandra Erickson.
Survivors include two grandchildren; her siblings, Donna Daily of Mandan, N.D., Vern (Audrey) Luken of Watertown, Elsie (Joe) Young of Henry and Herman (Patricia) Luken of Watertown; and her daughter-in-law, Terry Erickson of Watertown.
