John Garrett, 55, of Salem, died Wednesday February 4, 1998 at the Public Hospital of the Town of Salem.

He was born May 30, 1942 in Salem to Fred and Josephine Garrett. He married Betty Gesell on November 29, 1963 in Farina and she survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother Josephone Ford Bollhorst and her husband Norval Bollhorst, of Salem; his stepmother, Virginia Garrett of Salem, a daughter, Barbara Ann Morgan of McGregor, Texas, and her husband, George; three brothers, Glendle Garrett of Bartlett, TN, Frank Ford of Tyler, TX, and Jim Ford of Centralia, two sisters Mary Lee Belscamper of Mahomet and Rita Sands of Salem; two granddaughters
Dominique and Danielle.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Garrett and stepfather, Don Ford.

Mr Garrett was a security guard and later worked at the maintenance department of Brown's Produce.
