WALNUT COVE - Mr. Harvey Lee James, Sr., 64, died Friday evening, December 24, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born May 14, 1946 in Rockingham County to Dennis James and Nina Bullins James. Mr. James was the owner and operator of Stokes Mobile Home Repair. He enjoyed coon hunting and was a member of the Dan River Coon Club, and was a Taxidermist. He was of the Baptist faith. Harvey loved to work and always stay busy. An 11 a.m. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric Brown and Rev. Roger Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery in Madison. He was preceded in death by his father; Dennis James; and one brother; Steve James. He is survived by two children: Harvey L. "Smiley" James, Jr. and wife, Charlie and Barbara Ann Neal and husband, Larry; mother, Nina Bullins Johnson and husband, Cecil; and the mother of his children: Carolyn Tucker, all of Walnut Cove; two grandchildren: Brandon Goolsby and Jarrett David James; three step-grandchildren: Bobby Neal, Michael Colton Neal and Morgan Adams; one great-grandchild: Gavin Lane Neal; two sisters: Doris Nelson and husband, Bryant of Walnut Cove and Teresa Cook and husband, James of Germanton; and two brothers: Mark James of Eden and Edward James of Walnut Cove. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Burroughs Funeral Home and other times at the home of Carolyn Tucker. Burroughs Funeral Home in Walnut Cove, NC is serving the James family.
