Mr. George Jacob Bodmer Sr., 77, of 19530 Beallsville Road, Beallsville, died Sunday, Feb. 26, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Cooley Bodmer.

Born July 19, 1917, in Poolesville, he was the son of the late Roy and Mollie Cubbitt Bodmer.

Mr. Bodmer retired in 1972 from the Montgomery County Police Department after 25 years of service.

Surviving are two children, George (Buddy) J. Bodmer Jr. of Beallsville and Marie (Ginger) B. Hoffacker of Poolesville; one daughter-in-law, Susie Bodmer; one son-in-law, Larry Hoffacker; one sister, Mary A. Johnson of Camp Springs; two brothers, Ray C. Bodmer of Wheaton and Thomas H. Bodmer of Beallsville; and four grandchildren, Stephanie and Scott Bodmer, and Kelly and Ashley Hoffacker.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Bodmer Stoner, and two brothers, William Bodmer and Charles Bodmer.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road, Barnesville. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery in Beallsville.
