William A. Geitz, Sr. age 86 of West Deptford, on Thursday, March 11, 2010.

Mr. Geitz was born in Frankenburg, Germany and had been a resident of West Deptford all of his life. He was a veteran of World War ll, serving with the Army Rangers 2nd Battalion who were some of the first on the ground at Normandy on D-Day. He worked for many years at Electric Motor Repair in Woodbury.

Husband of the late Doris M. (nee Geitz Knoll), he is survived by two sons William A. Geitz, Jr. and his wife Cindy, John R. Geitz, Sr. and his wife Cindy, 5 grandchildren Bryan, Jennifer, John Jr., Kimberly & Ashley, 5 great grandchildren Lily, Gavin, Alex, Madelin, Meryn, one sister Eleanor Holt of Wenonah, and special thanks to Elaine Longley who helped care for him for several years.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family 9:30 to 10:30 AM Saturday, March 20 at SMITH FUNERAL HOME 47 Main St., Mantua, NJ where funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Eglington Cemetery
