Henry Anders Anderson was born at Winfield, Iowa, Dec. 25, 1892, the eldest son of Fred and Emma Anderson. He passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn., Wednesday, June 21, after an illness of more than a week as a result of a series of strokes.

Mr. Anderson united with the Presbyterian church in Winfield, Iowa as young man and came to Rush City with his parents in 1910 as a youth of 18 years.

In 1915 he married Miss Edith Sheldon of Rush City; they farmed in this community about 42 years until their retirement three years ago. To this union were born a son, Dudley and a daughter, Marian (Mrs. Danial (sic) Kile).

Mr Anderson took an active part in civic activities. For several years he was mayor of Rush City. He was county chairman of the Triple A program for 17 years, with its headquarters in North Branch. He was manager of the Co-op Creamery and was on the Farm Bureau Board for many years. He had served as Minnesota Crop Reporter for this territory since the government started this service. He was an active member of the Presbyterian church here.

Mr Anderson is survived by his sorrowing wife, Edith; his aged mother, Mrs Emma Anderson, Rush City; one daughter Marian (Mrs Danial Kile) of Minneapolis; one son Dudley, Rush City; six grandchildren, Gary, Adele, and Neil Anderson, Rush City and Craig, Lynn and Patti Kile, Minneapolis; one sister, Mrs Paul Ebert, Rush City; two brothers, Edward, Rush City and Albert, Denver, Colo., and other relatives.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 24, at 1 p. m. at the Olson Funeral Chapel, Pastor Carl A. Zimmerman on First Lutheran Church officiated.

Casketbearers were Herman Anderson, Marvin Erickson, Adrian Robinson, Alfred Rumpel, Henry Sommer, and Wm. Studt, Sr.

Two songs were sung by Mr and Mrs Waldron Broman of Willmar, his cousins, accompanied by Mrs Carl Zimmerman, organist. Interment was in the First Lutheran Cemetery. The Bethany Unit furnished refreshments which were served by friends at the Henry Anderson home.

Friends and relatives from this community and from other areas filled the Chapel for the solemn occasion.
