George William (G.W.) Yates, 64, of Check, Va., passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Steele Yates; five children, Calvin Yates, Angie and Josh Muncy, William and Jennifer Yates, all of Check, Donna and Dexter Wood, of Copper Hill, and Kenny and Stephanie Yates, of Floyd; 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley and Cletis Thomas, of Floyd, and Elizabeth and Roger McCloud, of Check; and two brothers, Earl Yates and Harry Yates, both of Check.
Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at Little White Church with the Rev. Chuck Thomas officiating. Interment in the Wilson Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 20, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home in Floyd, Va., 540-745-4100.
