G. Eddie Parrish
G. E. (Eddie) Parrish, 80, a retired employe of the Jackson Fire Department, who resided in Medina, died Sunday night in the Butlers Nursing Home in Milan where he had resided for the past five years. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from the Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Rev. Barney Flowers officiating.
Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery near Medina. Mr. Parrish was born and reared in Gibson County, son of the late James Richard and Mary Lyon Parrish. He moved to Jackson in 1918 and for more than 30 years was an employe of the Jackson Fire Department. He retired in 1956.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson. He moved to Medina and transferred his membership to the Me dina Baptist Church. Survivors are: one son, Walter T. Parrish of Little Rock, Ark. ; three brothers, Ben Parrish of Medina, J. D. Parrish of Dyersburg and Bose Parrish of Chicago; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Baker of Iowa. Pallbearers will be: . Ray Scott, Fred Brooks, James Ran dolph, W. H. Jeter, C. H. Jones and F. C. Carruth. Honorary pallbearers will be: Chief Ben Warlick, Assistant Chief Arnold Rampley and all off duty firemen. The body will remain at the funeral home until time for services..
