Her father was Rev. Zechariah Symmes, of Bradford, Massachusetts. She died the widow of Benjamin Stevens, Esq. becoming deceased in her 80's [on July 31st; July 30th, gravestone].

Special Note on birthplace:

Bradford was originally part of Rowley. Rowley was a lot larger in those early days. The name Bradford was officially established on January 7, 1672, when the town became independent and was set off from the town of Rowley. The village had been previously known by many other names, predominantly called Merrimack. Bradford's east parish broke away in the year 1850 and was inc. as Groveland, carrying that name into the present day. What was left of Bradford was absorbed by the city of Haverhill in 1897. Bradford remains a village of Haverhill to this day.
