She and her husband operated the Maples Restaurant in Karns City for a number of years. Mrs. McClain and her husband served as foster parents in the 1970s. She was a member of the Karns City United Methodist Church where she sang in the church choir and served as a youth counselor.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Reinhardt of Chicora and Susan McClain of Plum; and a son, J. Greer "Sonny" McClain and his wife, Lori, of Centerville, Ohio.
She also is survived by six grandchildren, Jason Hepler of Keystone Heights, Fla., Amanda Tison and her husband, Eugene of Stark, Fla., Alicia Hepler of Windermere, Fla., Justin McClain and his wife, Casey, of Lebanon, Ohio, Amy McClain of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Jonathan McClain of Springboro, Ohio; three greatgrandchildren, Stephanie and Michelle Tison, both of Stark, Fla. and Audrey McClain of Lebanon, Ohio; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers Floyd and Frederick McCollough; and three sisters, Mary Dunmyre, Alice Green and Elsie Gaiser.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home in Petrolia and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Karns City United Methodist Church where services will be held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Glea Foster, officiating.
