Riggs McLean Tucker, age 81, of Conway, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2004 at his home.

He was born July 1, 1923 in Fosterville, TN to the late Joe A. Tucker and Ora Henley Tucker. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and one grandson, Biff Shaikh.

Mr. Tucker was a retired U.S. Air Force Major. He graduated flight school on July 27, 1943 and served in WWII receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal. He also served in the Korean Conflict and was repeatedly cited for heroism serving with air and sea rescue. He received his Bachelor degree from Trinity University and his Masters degree from Utah State University. After retiring from military service he taught Economics at the University of Central Arkansas until his retirement on May 15, 1990. He was also a member of the Conway First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Fay Bryant Tucker of Conway; a son, Richard M. Tucker and wife, Elaine of Huntsville, AR; two daughters, Nancy Shaikh and husband, Khalid of Conway, Ellen Frazier and husband, David of Ft. Mill, SC; 10 grandchildren, Melissa Lovelady, Taimur Shaikh, Minza Franklin, Meliha Shaikh, Sehr Shaikh, Emily Frazier, David Frazier, Jr., Hannah Rose Tucker, Joshua Tucker, Shad Tucker; two great-grandchildren, Mitchell Lovelady and Jaiden Riggs Franklin.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway with full military honors provided by the U.S. Air Force.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, www.rollermcnutt.com.

Memorials may be made to a scholarship fund at the University of Central Arkansas that will assist an outstanding student of Economics. Donations may be made at the Bank of the Ozarks on Oak Street.
