Iva was born November 19, 1908 in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma, near Long in a log house after the Indian Territory became a state to Manie George and Ethel (Fisher) Jackson.
She was raised and educated in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma.
Iva married Clarence M. Bagby on September 15, 1928 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. They made their home in LaFountaine, Kansas and moved to Independence on November 20, 1981. Clarence preceded her in death on January 27, 1988.
She was a homemaker and a member of the La Fountaine United Methodist Church. She loved to work with house plants and gardening.
Iva is survived by two daughters, four granddaughters, and eight great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Jack Edward Bagby and one brother, Clyde Jackson.
Visitation hours for Iva will be on Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon at the Penwell-Gabel Webb Rodrick Chapel.
Graveside services for Iva M. Bagby will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 13, 2006 at the Cheatham (Koger) Cemetery, west of Neodesha, Kansas with the Reverend Charlotte Coates of the Fredonia United Methodist Church officiating.
