Philip was retired from the former Wheelabrator Frye Corp., in Mishawaka, with 17 years service, and a retired farmer. Philip was born Sept. 13, 1897, in Kieldrecht, Bugium, to Ernest and Emma (Adriaenssens) Laureys. The family moved to the U.S.A. in 1909, and Philip lived in the South Bend area since.
On Oct. 9, 1917, Philip married Leona DeWaele of South Bend., born Dec. 3,1897, in Monterey, France. Leona had lived in the United States since 1902. Leona preceded Philip in death in 1980.
He is survived by two sons, Ernest and Albert, both of New Carlisle; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildern. A sister, Martha Zietnick of Chicago; and two brothers, Armand Of Chicago and Albert G. of New Carlisle. He was a member of the Catholic Church, Moose Lodge 58 and Volksring Club.
