Dennis C. Beevers, 70, of 1040 San Jacinto Ave., died at 1:15 a.m. Monday in Park Place Hospital.
A native of Clevland, Miss., he had lived in this area for 50 years. Mr. Beevers was a retired operator from Texaco with 37 years of service. He was a member of the Lakeview Methodist Church, OCAW Local 423 and was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.
Funeral services are set for 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Nunnelly-Stanley-Stickley Chapel of the Chimes. The Rev. Don Dodge, pastor of the Lakeview Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Beulah Beevers of Port Arthur; one daughter, Linda Wells of Bridge City; one son, Gary Beevers of Bridge City; two sisters, Mrs. Elaine Bobo of Cleveland, Miss.; Mrs. Sybil Tyler of Cleveland, Miss.; one brother, Willborn Beevers of Rayville, La.; three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Carl Haynes, C.O. Bedsole, Johnny Williams, Les Aycock, Phillip Hill and C.J. Patin.
