NAMPA — Services for Varlie Arlet Pittman, 73, of 230 Delaware Ave., Nampa, who died Thursday at home, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Nampa First Christian Church by Dr. James O. York Sr., pastor, and the Rev. Vernon L. Wilcox of the Nampa First Church of the Nazarene. Entombment will be in the Building of Reverence at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with graveside rites by the Nampa Loyal Order, of Moose Lodge No. 1430, under the direction of Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
He was born April 11, 1905, at May, Okla., where he was reared and educated. He married Yvonne Conley Feb. 14, 1931, at Ashland, Kan. They farmed near May until moving to the Nampa area in 1936. He worked for Vale Produce for 27 years, then for Western Farmers for two years. In 1967, he retired.
He was a member of the Nampa First Christian Church, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1430 and was active in the Nampa Senior Citizens.
Surviving are his wife of Nampa; a son, Leo A. Pittman of Burns, Ore.; two daughters, Mrs. Rosana Dealy of Many, La., and Mrs. Elaine Durheim of Hines, Ore.; four brothers, Arthur and Harry, both of Gage, Okla., Arlo of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Henry of Del City, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Beulah Tyler of Henryetta, Okla., and Mrs. Roberta Thomison of Pueblo, Colo,; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to the Nampa First Christian Church.

He was born April 11, 1905, at May, Okla., the son of Arthur Arvine Pittman & Dora Cordelia Doty, and there in May he was reared and educated. He married Yvonne Conley Feb. 14, 1931, in Ashland, Kansas. They farmed near May until 1936, when they moved to Idaho and settled in the Nampa area. He worked for Vale Produce in Nampa for 27 years. He also worked for Western Farmers for two years. He retired in 1967. He was a member of the Nampa First Christian Church and a member of the Christian Church since the age of 18, a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1430, and was active in the Nampa Senior Citizens.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa; a son, Leo A.
