Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall.
Born August 17, 1921, in Norton, MO, Faye was the daughter of Alburt M. Wilson Sr. and Bennie (Mumford) Wilson. She was a graduate of Marshall High School and Missouri Valley College. A well known and beloved teacher, Faye spent much of her career in a one room school house, the first of which was Green Mound School. She spent many years teaching special education at Center School and Marshall High School.
On February 1, 1944, Faye married Arch C. Edde, Jr. in Urbana, IL. They had three children, Jerry and Terry, who survive, and a daughter, Pamela Faye who died as an infant. She was also preceded in death by a brother Alburt McFarland Wilson, Jr. Faye was a charter member of Gill Memorial Baptist Church.
Faye's hobbies included crafts and participation with various associations such as the DAR and Saline County Retired Teachers Association. She also traveled around the country with her husband Arch, before his death in 1997, seeking out genealogy tidbits and making friends as they traveled. For many years after her retirement she would be greeted by her former students, informally, and with much affection and a hug and a hello, just to let her know how much they appreciated the tools and direction she had provided them as a student.
In addition to a full time day job as a teacher, Faye devoted her life to her family, church and friends. Her two sons are ever, and forever, grateful for her love, affection and guidance that filled our home.
