Bessie Marie Thompkins Lambert, 87, widow of William Howard Lambert, passed away Tuesday, June 05, 2007, at the NE and Ruby Green Hospice Community Center.

Mrs. Lambert was born March 14, 1920 in Conway, a daughter of John Whiteford Thompkins and Ola Hyman Thompkins.

She was a retired certified nursing aid with Georgetown Memorial Hospital and was a faithful member of the St. Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Mrs. Lambert was a devoted wife, a loving mother and caring grandmother, and a dedicated woman of faith.

She was predeceased by her husband and her parents; a son, William O'Neal Lambert; and six brothers, Monroe Thompkins, William Thompkins, Leo Thompkins, Theo Thompkins, Harley Thompkins and Marshall Thompkins.

Surviving are a son, Randy Howard (Lynn) Lambert of Georgetown; four daughters, Shelby Clement, Mildred (Lloyd ''Sonny Boy'') Hardee, Ernestine Phillips and Marie (Hubert) Zucher, all of Georgetown; a brother, Archie Thompkins of Conway; a sister, Mary Estalene Lambert-Terry of Georgetown; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 5 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2007, at the St. Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow in the Holmes Cemetery, directed by Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
