Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Baker Funeral Chapel in Gonzales for Mrs. Mamie Kitchen Mahan, who died at her home in Leesville Friday at 8 a.m. after an illness of several months. Dr. D. P. Woods of Stockdale conducted the service. Internment was in Gonzales City Cemetery,
Mrs. Mahan was born Oct. 5, 1869, in Illinois. She was the wife of R. A. Mahan, who died several months ago. Surviving are 2 sons, Virgil of Waco; Walter of Leesville; a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Hall of Nixon; nine grandchildren; 1 brother, Curtis Kitchen, of Brownwood; 1 sister, Mrs. Roxie Sheeran of San Antonio.
She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Mahan was a loving mother, and indeed a kind neighbor and friend to many.
