Rev. Samuel R. Connatser, Jr., 83, of Rossville, GA passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010 in a local health care facility.
A native of Chattanooga, TN, Rev. Connatser was a retired cabinet maker and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Shield Baptist Church and had pastored several churches in the north Georgia area for 52 years, and he broadcasted his ministry on radio and television for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel R. Connatser, Sr., & Nettie J. Miller Connatser, brother, Charles Connatser, and granddaughter, Jennifer Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Connatser; daughters, , GA, Janice Petty, Chattanooga, TN; sons, Charles Connatser of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA, & Terry Connatser of Dalton, GA; sisters, Ruby Giles & Gracie McGee of Chattanooga, TN, & Peggy Edna Hansen, St. Petersburg, FL; six grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Bill Proctor & Rev. Craig Westbrook officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
The family will receive friends Monday from 3 – 8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, Rossville, GA.
