Mrs. Jean S. Kemp, 77, of 20th St., Vienna, died Saturday afternoon, April 29, 2000 at the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg.
Mrs. Kemp was born September 11, 1922 in Wirt County, WV a daughter of the late Thomas William and Ruby Smith Strahin. She was a 1937 graduate of Wirt County High School and former clerk at Sims Grocery Store of Elizabeth. She retired in 1988 from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources with more than 10 years of service and was a former bookkeeper at Wirt County Bank.
She is survived by two nephews, Larry Strahan of Vienna and Pat Fulmer of Elizabeth, one niece, Connie June Sims of Tampa, FL, and several great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred E. (Dee) Kemp in 1962, one brother, Arthur Strahin, one sister, Marguerite Roberts, and one nephew, Charles Fulmer.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Busch Funeral Home, Elizabeth, with the Rev. Robert Stanley officiating. Burial followed at the Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Elizabeth.
