OBITUARY: (7/6/1956 - El Dorado Daily News)- Alex G. Shivers, Jr., 66, of 728 W. First St., died at 8:30 last night at a local hospital. He was born in Nashville, Tenn., May 10, 1890, the son of Alex and Jessie Beatrice Johnson Shivers (b.abt.1873 TN). Mr. Shivers was a retired post office employee and a veteran of World War I. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, a member of the El Dorado Lodge 13 F&AM, and a charter member of the American Legion Post 317. Mr. Shivers is survived by: his widow, Mrs. Minnie Lee Shivers; two sons, Robert N. Shivers of Hope, Ark., and Forrest D. Shivers of El Dorado; two sisters, Mrs. Berton Rogers and Mrs. Beatrice Kelly, both of Montclair, N. J.; and two grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are incomplete, with Hall Mortuary in charge.
