Dr. Roy G. Bassett, of Callao, formerly of Madison, Mo., and nephew of Mrs. H.P. Jennings of Moberly, died this morning at Woodland Hospital, where he had been ill of a heart condition. Dr. Bassett had been practicing dentistry in Callao the past 12 or 15 years and before that had practiced in Madison, Mo. He was born in Monroe County, Mo., August 17, 1880.
Mrs. C.E. Zahl, Mrs. George White, Mrs. J.W. Greenland, Mrs. Ray Lamke, Mrs. Otto Megee, Mrs. Hugh Nave, Mrs. Herb Lamb, and Mrs. J.E. Bassett, all of Moberly, were cousins of Dr. Bassett, and Mrs. J. Scott Chowning of Madison was a cousin and also his foster sister.
The body will be taken to Madison tomorrow, where funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the graveside in the Madison cemetery, if the weather permits. Otherwise funeral services will be held in the home of Mrs. Chowning.
