Obituary. Mrs. Geo. Ireland. Mt. Vernon.
Mount Vernon, Me., May 24 (Special). - Emily, wife of Geo. Ireland on Church street, after a long illness of cancer, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon. She was born in Rangeley, March 9, 1832, child of Jas. and Rachel Dodge. Her first husband was W.O. Parlin, of Weld, with whom she had four sons and three daughters. Of these three sons survive: Frank E., of Cambridge, Mass.; James M., of Holabird, S.D.; W.O., of Mount Vernon; also a stepson, J.R. Parlin, of Watertown, Mass., and a step-daughter, Mrs. A.M. Nash, of Peabody, Mass. Her second husband was Lewis Bean of Jay and 27 years ago she was married to Geo. Ireland of Mount Vernon. Beside husband and children she leaves a brother, Curtis Dodge, of Bingham, and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Jane Bray, of Buena Vista, Col. She was a faithful member of the local Methodist Episcopal church, also of the Woman's Relief Corps of Cyrus Williams Post, G.A.R. The service was held at the home Thursday. Rev. H.C. Glidden officiated, assisted by Rev. F.W. Klein. Hon. Jos. W. Allen served as the director. The Mt. Vernon male quartet rendered music. Undertaker E.N. Allen of Vienna trensferred the remains Friday to Weld, for burial in the Parlin Family lot.
