She was born April 15, 1912, in Petersburg, the daughter of Lynn and Elsa Goldsby Houghton.
Mrs. McFarland was the owner and operator of a mimeograph and secretarial service for 25 years. She was a member of West Side Christian Church.
Survivors: a son, Dwight McFarland of Springfield; and a grandchild.
