TACOMA, Wash. May 11. - Mrs. Julia A. McCarver, widow of Gen. M. M. McCarver, the founder of Burlington, Ia., Sacramento, Cal., and the city of Tacoma, died this evening of old age. She was born in St. Charles county, Missouri, Nov. 19, 1825, and leaves nine children, all daughters. She came to Oregon in 1847, settling at Oregon City, and to Puget sound in 1868. Gen. McCarver died in 1873.

In a check on a newspaper web site I found that this very same obit appeared in papers all over the U.S.! It was in papers in NE., W.VA., PA., LA., MO., and those are just the ones that came up in my search. The obit was most likely in a lot of other papers as well.
