Ron was born in Olla on June 16, 1936. He was a retired boilermaker, having worked for 35 years for Firestone. He was lived in the Sulphur and the Lake Charles area for most of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Opal Jones Waggoner and niece Angela Waggoner Clifton. Those left to cherish and honor his memory are his wife, Beverly Steffens Waggoner, Lake Charles; daughter, Regina Waggoner and son, Wesley Waggoner, both of Los Angeles, CA; step daughter, Laura Beth Cross and husband Steve, Sulphur; step son, Jess King and wife, Arianne, Park City, UT; six grandchildren; brother, Gary Waggoner and wife Vernice, Sulphur; nephew, Scott Waggoner, Sulphur; great nephew, Gareth Waggoner, Levittown, PA and many other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM today, Wednesday, December 22, at Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Alvin Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Dry Creek Cemetery.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Christus St. Patrick's ICU for the wonderful care given to Ron during his illness.
