She was born Jan. 23, 1911, in Greenwood, Miss., and lived in the Lorain area for 56 years before moving to Indianapolis 15 years ago.

She retired from Community Health Partners' dietary department.

She was a lifelong member of Second Baptist Church, Lorain, and a member of the Lorain Democratic Women's Club, Peerless Temple 236, Daughters of the Elks and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo and entertaining.

Survivors include her daughter, Gertrude A. Birdsong of Indianapolis; brother, Lawrence M. Crisp of Lorain; and three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Robertson; second husband, Alexander Baker; her parents, Matthew and Lillian Crisp; sisters Lena Williams, Clara Wilson, Vernola Crisp and Harriet Gause; and brothers William, Moses, Oliver, Follie, Dave, Matthew, Edward and James Crisp.

Friends may call Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway, Lorain. Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in Second Baptist Church, 300 W. 24th St., Lorain, with the Rev. Loveriser Lewis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain
